Villa Il Leccio A
Positioned along a panoramic hillside, its built on an ancient colonial house. It can be entered though the private parking area. The house has a T shape, where the central part, over two floors, is flanked by two shorter sections, made up by a bedroom on the right side, and an arcade with a view on the sea on the left side.
The structure is on two floors. The entrance is under the arcade, as an extension from the living room, dining room and kitchen area; two other French windows highlight the integration of inside and outside space. A large bedroom is located at the ground floor, also usable as an office or play area; at the first floor, there are two bedrooms overlooking the sea. The external areas, adjacent to the building, are made up by a paved arcade, which is a true and proper exterior living room, and by green areas: scented bushes, floral vines, and a wide grove. The pronounced slope in front of the building is bordered by a stone wall, providing a pleasant seating area.
The villa reflects the natural character of the region. The tiled roof covering is gabled with two eaves; the portico area consists of a wooden structure, complete with roof tiles. The floor is made of a mixed structure of concrete and exposed, wooden beams. The finishing of the exterior walls is in lime plaster; the window frames, complete with doors, are made of painted aluminium to ensure durability and reduced maintenance. The low body and the columns of the porch are clad in local stone. The living area, the rooms and the bathrooms are paved with porcelain tiles; the internal staircase is marble-floored. The colours and materials aim at creating a relaxing and translucent environment, which communicates with nature’s light and with the sea behind the villa.
